Compagnie Valdôtaine des Eaux
The C.V.A. is the primary producer of hydroelectric power in Aosta Valley (small region in northern Italy at an average altitude of 2,700m). Its assets include 29 plants: 5 dams and 24 power stations (effluent or basin water). These dams above 2,000 meters are fed by snow and glacial water, and climate change impacts are very relevant as it is anticipated there will be an increased demand for this “green energy” in the future. The Company will contribute to an analysis on hydropower impacts through simulation of different scenarios of reservoir management in mountainous areas in the context of climate change.
